What the rules say

7 notes

Disqualifiers3

Any one of these can void an entry or a win.

  • Your own return address on the mail-in (and the address used for purchase entries) cannot be a P.O. Box.

Show the rules' wording· How to Enter, Free Mail-In Entry

“full mailing address (no P.O. Boxes)”

  • Sponsor is not responsible for postage-due mail-in entries -- insufficient postage risks the card never counting.

Show the rules' wording· How to Enter, Free Mail-In Entry

“Sponsor is not responsible for postage-due Mail-In Entries or for any incorrect or illegible data contained in any Mail-In Entry.”

  • Winner must take delivery within 90 days of being notified the vehicle is ready, or it can be forfeited to an alternate winner.

Show the rules' wording· Prize section

“Winner must agree to take delivery of the Vehicle within ninety (90) days of notification of availability from the Sponsor; failure to take delivery within ninety (90) days of availability could cause the Vehicle to be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.”

Advantages2

Things in the rules that work in your favor.

  • The 300-entry cap is per person regardless of method, so a free mailer sending 60 postcards (5 entries each) reaches the exact same 300-entry ceiling as someone spending $1,500 online.

Show the rules' wording· How to Enter, LIMIT

“Three hundred (300) total entries per person during the Sweepstakes Period, regardless of method of entry.”

  • Nothing in the mail-in paragraph requires the card to be hand-printed by the entrant personally (unlike several sibling giveaways in this space) -- only that it be legible and not mechanically reproduced.

Show the rules' wording· How to Enter, Free Mail-In Entry

“legibly hand-print your full name, full mailing address (no P.O. Boxes), email address, phone number, and birth date on a plain 3x5 inch paper”

Costs2

  • Winners in Alaska or Hawaii must pay their own transportation/delivery costs for the vehicle; everywhere else in the contiguous US, the Sponsor arranges and pays for reasonable transportation.

Show the rules' wording· Prize section

“If the winner resides in Alaska or Hawaii, the winner will be solely responsible for all transportation and delivery costs associated with receiving the Vehicle, and acceptance of the prize is conditioned upon the winner’s agreement to arrange and pay for such transportation.”

  • The STI (and possibly the Tacoma) has been modified from factory spec; the winner must check their own state/county emissions and safety-inspection rules before accepting, and can decline the prize (with no cash substitute guaranteed) if it can't be legally registered.

Show the rules' wording· Prize section

“Winner acknowledges that the Vehicle has been modified from its original manufacturer's specifications. Vehicle may not meet safety, emissions testing, or other standards required in some states, and/or counties/municipalities and Sponsor makes no representation that the Vehicle is street legal or eligible for registration in all jurisdictions.”
