1. Who we are
This policy explains how AllCarGiveaways (“we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information about you when you use AllCarGiveaways (allcargiveaways.com), our email alerts and AllCarGiveaways Pro (the “Service”). It's part of our Terms of Use. Questions go to hello@allcargiveaways.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Email alerts. Your email address, the alerts you choose, any sponsor or category you follow, the page you signed up on, and when you confirmed.
- Pro. Your email address and, from Stripe, your customer and subscription IDs, plan, status and the date your paid period ends. Stripe collects your payment details; we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages and submissions. Your name, email address and whatever you send us, such as corrections, tips, photos or requests.
- Advertisers. Business contact and billing details.
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the time, to deliver the Service and protect it from abuse.
- Analytics. Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived, clicks on links to sponsors, sign-ups, your device and browser type and approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address). It sets first-party cookies (
_gaand_ga_*, which last up to two years) so it can recognize a returning browser. Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses. We use it to understand how the site is used, in aggregate, and not to identify you. - Advertising cookies. When ads are on, Google and its partners use cookies, device identifiers and similar technology to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites (see section 5).
- Browser storage. We keep a few items in your browser's local storage: your Pro sign-in token (your email address and an expiry date) and your privacy choice. They stay on your device, and you can delete them by clearing this site's data.
People named in giveaway records
Our research includes information that sponsors and public bodies publish: winners' names and locations as sponsors announced them, names and addresses printed in official rules, and business registration records. We publish only what those sources made public, with a link to the source. If that information is about you, you can ask us to limit or remove it (see section 9 and our Editorial Policy).
3. How we use it
- To send the alerts you asked for, and to confirm your sign-up.
- To provide Pro: to check your payment, turn Pro on in your browser, and send sign-in links, receipts and notices about your subscription, including renewal reminders and price-change notices.
- To answer your messages, and to act on corrections and requests.
- To run, secure, fix and improve the Service, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To show ads through Google, and to count how many readers click through to each sponsor, which we may share with sponsors as totals.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We don't build profiles of you, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similar effects.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers that process data for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting, security, and the systems behind alerts and Pro), Resend (sending email), Stripe (payments) and Google (analytics).
- Google and its advertising partners, through cookies on our pages, as section 5 describes.
- Sponsors and affiliate networks. When you click a link to a sponsor or to Amazon, that site learns you came from us, and for an affiliate link it records the visit so it can pay us a commission. We don't give them your email address or other personal information.
- Advertisers get only totals, such as how many clicks a listing received.
- Legal and safety. When we believe in good faith that the law, legal process or a government request requires it, or that it's needed to protect anyone's rights, safety or property or to prevent fraud.
- Business transfers. If the Service is sold, merged or reorganized, the new owner would be bound by this policy.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
We don't sell or rent your email address, and we never share it with sponsors or advertisers.
5. Advertising, analytics and cookies
We show ads served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits. Even non-personalized ads use cookies, for things like limiting how often you see an ad, fraud prevention and reporting. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services. Pro members see no ads, and we don't load Google's ad code for them.
Your choices:
- Use the switch below to turn off personalized ads and Google Analytics in your browser.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising for that browser, and we switch off personalized ads and Google Analytics automatically.
- Opt out of personalized advertising in Google's ad settings, or of many companies at once at aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org.
- Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics on every site.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads load.
Do Not Track. Browsers' “Do Not Track” setting has no agreed standard, so we don't respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control.
Third parties, including Google, Amazon, affiliate networks and other advertisers, may serve content and ads, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on your browser. Stripe's checkout pages, sponsors' sites and other sites we link to set their own cookies under their own policies.
6. Your privacy choices: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We don't sell personal information for money. But under some state laws, letting Google's advertising and analytics cookies collect information on our pages can count as “selling” or “sharing” it, or as targeted advertising. This switch opts this browser out of all of that. It applies to this browser only, so set it again on other browsers or devices, or after clearing your cookies and site data. It doesn't affect alerts or Pro.
7. Email
- We email you only after you confirm your address, and every alert has an unsubscribe link that works straight away.
- We keep a list of addresses that unsubscribed, so we never email them alerts again.
- Links in our emails carry a tag (
utm_source=alerts) so our analytics can count visits from email in aggregate. - Some alert emails include sponsored listings or are sponsored. They're labelled, and we never give sponsors your address.
- Service emails about Pro, such as receipts, renewal reminders and sign-in links, still arrive if you unsubscribe from alerts.
8. How long we keep it
- Alerts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address. After that we keep only the address on our unsubscribe list, so we don't email you again.
- Pro: while you're a member, then up to seven years for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
- Messages: up to three years after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps event data for up to 14 months; reports are aggregated.
- Server logs: kept by Cloudflare for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
- Browser storage: until it expires or you clear it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy; to correct it; to delete it; to opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any). We don't sell personal information for money, but our use of Google's advertising and analytics cookies may count as selling or sharing under some state laws, which is why the switch above exists.
To make a request, email hello@allcargiveaways.com from the address it concerns, so we can verify it's you. To opt out of selling or sharing, use the switch above or turn on Global Privacy Control; you don't need to verify anything. You can use an authorized agent, who must show us your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly. We'll respond within the time your state's law requires, normally 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights.
If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal.” We'll answer within the time your state's law allows, generally 45 to 60 days, and if you're still unhappy you can contact your state attorney general.
If you're named in our giveaway records, for example as a winner, we'll shorten your name to a first name and last initial or remove it on request. Our Editorial Policy has the details, including how we handle home addresses.
California
This policy is our notice at collection under the California Consumer Privacy Act. In the past 12 months we collected these categories of personal information:
| Category | What it is | Disclosed to | Sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address; IP address; cookie and device IDs | Service providers; Google and its ad partners (IP address, cookie and device IDs only) | Cookie IDs and IP address may be shared for advertising, unless you opt out |
| Commercial information | Your Pro plan, status and payment dates | Service providers (Stripe, Cloudflare) | No |
| Internet activity | Pages viewed, links clicked, interactions with ads | Service providers; Google and its ad partners | May be shared for advertising, unless you opt out |
| Approximate location | City or region worked out from your IP address | Service providers; Google and its ad partners | May be shared for advertising, unless you opt out |
We collect this information from you and your device, and from Stripe for Pro. We use it for the purposes in section 3 and keep it as section 8 describes. We don't collect sensitive personal information, and we don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Other states
If you live in another state with a consumer privacy law, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas or Virginia, you have similar rights, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising, and you can use them in the same way. Nevada residents: we don't sell covered information as Nevada law defines it, but you can still email us an opt-out request.
10. Children
The Service isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be 18 or older to sign up for alerts or Pro. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
11. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, signed tokens, and access limited to the people who run the site, and we keep as little data as we can. Card details never reach our systems. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
12. Visitors from outside the US
The Service is run from the United States and meant for US residents. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is processed in the US, where the law may differ from yours. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland: we use advertising and analytics cookies only with your consent, which Google's consent message asks for; we rely on our contract with you for alerts and Pro, and on our legitimate interests for security. You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, object to our processing, or withdraw consent at any time, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Other sites
Sponsors' sites, Stripe's checkout and other sites we link to have their own privacy policies. We aren't responsible for how they handle your information.
14. Changes
We'll post any change here with a new date. If we make a material change to how we use personal information you gave us, we'll email you before it takes effect.
