What the rules say

37 notes

Disqualifiers12

Any one of these can void an entry or a win.

  • Entry must be a plain 4x6 postcard. Envelopes are not accepted.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“on a plain 4” x 6” postcard (ENVELOPE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED)”

  • Envelope entries will not be accepted (stated twice in the AMOE paragraph).

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

    “NO ENVELOPES WILL BE ACCEPTED.”

  • Must be handprinted in black ink, and the postcard must carry only first name, last name and e-mail address (round 11 asks for much less than rounds 9 and 10 did). Entries completed by anyone other than the entrant are void; mechanical reproductions are not accepted.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“legibly handprint in black ink your first name, last name, and e-mail address”

  • Anyone other than the entrant writing or submitting the postcard voids it, and mechanical reproductions (printed or copied cards) are not accepted.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“Entries submitted or completed by anyone other than the Entrant are void. No mechanical reproductions will be accepted.”

  • Returning a purchased item cancels its entries even if no refund is issued.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, footnote 1

“if items received via qualifying purchase are returned (whether or not refund is issued), any entries received in conjunction therewith will be cancelled.”

  • Using multiple or different accounts, or any other method of entry, can void entries and lead to disqualification. Automated entry is prohibited.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3

“Any attempt by any Entrant to enter this Sweepstakes using multiple/different accounts or any other methods may void the Entrant’s entries and may result in disqualification, at the sole discretion of Sponsor.”

  • Automated entry systems are prohibited and can disqualify an entrant.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3

“Use of any automated system to participate in the Sweepstakes is prohibited and may result in disqualification.”

  • A potential winner must sign and return an affidavit/release (including a publicity release) and IRS W-9 (US) or W8-BEN (Canada) in the time frame given in the notification. The notification time frame is not stated in the rules.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“The potential Grand Prize Winner must sign and return to the Independent Administrator an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability/publicity release in the form provided by the Independent Administrator (the “Release”) and IRS form W-9 (US Residents) or W8-BEN (Canadian Residents) in order to claim the Grand Prize”

  • Missing the paperwork deadline forfeits the prize and an alternate may be drawn.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“If the potential Grand Prize Winner fails to sign and return the Required Documents within the required time period, the potential Grand Prize Winner forfeits their right to the Grand Prize”

  • Canadian winners must answer a time-limited skill-testing question unaided.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“If the potential Grand Prize Winner is a resident of Canada, they will be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question”

  • A potential winner without a unique, personal and valid social security number is disqualified and another winner may be drawn.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“the potential Grand Prize Winner does not have a unique, personal and valid social security number”

  • The sponsor may require a background check and may refuse to award the prize after reviewing it.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 7

“potential Grand Prize Winner may be asked to agree in writing to Sponsor having a background check conducted on them”

Advantages7

Things in the rules that work in your favor.

  • A winner who entered by mail-in postcard receives the $100,000 check, not a brand prize. The rules call the mail-in route 'Section 4(d)', but entry methods are listed under section 3 (To Enter) and section 4 is Winning/Odds; the mail-in route is item D of section 3.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 5, Grand Prize

“In the event the Grand Prize Winner entered via Section 4(d), they will receive a $100,000USD check.”

  • Mail-in postcard is worth 10 entries. Writing DOUBLE (bottom left) gives 2x, MULTIPLIER (bottom right) gives 5x, and SSP (bottom middle) gives another 2x. The rules do not say whether these stack with each other or only one applies, so no combined figure is given.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“To receive two times (2x) entries, hand write “DOUBLE” in the bottom lefthand corner of the postcard.”

  • MULTIPLIER (5x) booster: hand write MULTIPLIER in the bottom right-hand corner of the postcard. Stacking with DOUBLE and SSP is not stated.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“To receive five times (5x) entries, hand write “MULTIPLIER” in the bottom righthand corner of the postcard.”

  • SSP booster: hand write SSP in the bottom middle of the postcard for another 2x. The rules do not explain what SSP stands for or whether it stacks.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“To receive another two times (2x) entries, hand write “SSP” in the bottom middle of the postcard.”

  • Cap is 10,000 entries per entrant across ALL methods (purchases and mail-in together). At the base 10 entries per postcard, 10,000 entries equals 1,000 postcards, so a mailer can match a heavy buyer; boosters would reach the cap with fewer cards. There is no separate limit on the number of postcards.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3

“Regardless of the method of entry, there is a limit of ten thousand (10,000) entries per Entrant during the Sweepstakes Period.”

  • For purchases, the dollar amount counted includes gift card purchases, tax, shipping and handling, so buyers earn entries on more than the product price.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, footnote 1

“dollar amount spent includes gift card purchases, tax, shipping and handling fees as applicable”

  • Chemical Guys shows 2x entries on all Kits & Bundles on its homepage and 2x on new products on its giveaway page (brand-run, purchases only; no start or end date shown).

    Show the rules' wording· chemicalguys.com

“Every $1 spent = 1 entry. Plus, get 2x entries on all Kits & Bundles.”

Extra free entries3

  • Brands may award entries for free actions they choose (register on their site, download their app, sign up for e-mail/SMS, take a survey). The number varies by brand and not every brand offers every method; check each brand's own page.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, Miscellaneous actions

“A certain designated number of entries may be received for performing specified actions other than making a purchase/donation as prescribed by a given participating business entity or non-profit organization.”

  • Chemical Guys' page advertises 100 bonus entries for signing up to its newsletter (with 20% off a first order). This is a brand-run extra, not set by the rules.

    Show the rules' wording· chemicalguys.com/pages/giveaway

“Plus earn 100 bonus entries to our $100k giveaway.”

  • A paid monthly membership at Shared Sweeps gives double entries on orders through Shared Sweeps brands. The rules do not state the price or whether mail-ins are affected.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, Membership

“sign up for a monthly membership to receive exclusive monthly offers along with double entries on all orders made through Shared Sweeps brands.”

Timing4

  • Postmark by Nov 21, 2026 and received by Nov 30, 2026. The postmark deadline falls nine days before the Sweepstakes Period ends, so a card mailed in the last week is late even though the promotion is still running.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“Entries must be postmarked by November 21, 2026 and received by November 30, 2026.”

  • Single drawing at 2:00pm ET in Newark, NY on or about Dec 1, 2026, the day after the period ends.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 4

“There will be one (1) random drawing held at 2:00pm ET in Newark, NY on or about December 1, 2026”

  • Brands' multipliers can be changed or removed during their own time frames; check the brand's page before buying.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, footnote 3

“Sponsor reserves the right to modify one or more available multipliers or eliminate multiplier(s) in their entirety during the corresponding timeframe.”

  • The winner is notified within 48 hours of the drawing; the rules do not give a response deadline for the paperwork beyond 'the time frame indicated in the Notification'.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“Grand Prize Winner will be notified via a contact source provided at the time of registration (at the discretion of the Independent Administrator) within forty-eight (48) hours of the drawing date.”

Costs2

  • The $100,000 is taxable income; the winner pays all taxes and expenses not listed, and a Form 1099 or 1042S is issued. The rules offer no tax contribution.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“The Grand Prize is taxable as income as required by applicable law, and the Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on the Grand Prize”

  • Winners' list is available only by mailing a self-addressed, stamped business-size envelope to PO Box 458, Newark NY 14513, received by Jan 4, 2027.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 12

“To receive the first name, last initial, city and state of the prize winner, send a self-addressed, stamped (business size) envelope to: “Shared Sweeps $100K Giveaway 11” Winners List Request, PO Box 458, Newark, NY 14513. Requests must be received by January 4, 2027”

Oddities9

  • Grand prize is either a $100,000 check or the prize the winning entry's brand advertised (the winner picks), with all elements totalling $100,000. Which brand's prize applies depends on which brand received the winning entry; a mail-in winner gets the check.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 5, Grand Prize

“Grand Prize Winner will be able to select either: i) a $100,000USD check or ii) the Grand Prize being offered by the business entity coinciding with the Grand Prize Winner’s entry.”

  • Brand-advertised prizes are set by each participating brand, not by the rules; the rules name no vehicle. Chemical Guys, for example, advertises a Dodge Demon or $100,000. The record's vehicleType 'car' is a placeholder taken from that brand.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 5, Grand Prize

“The Grand Prize to be awarded will be determined based on the business entity that received the winning entry.”

  • Chemical Guys' giveaway page presents the drawing as its own 'Dodge Demon Giveaway' while the rules make it ONE pooled drawing across all participating brands with one grand prize. There is no separate Chemical Guys drawing.

    Show the rules' wording· chemicalguys.com/pages/giveaway

“Every $1 Spent = 1 Entry to our $100k Dodge Demon Giveaway.”

  • The rules state there is one grand prize in conjunction with ALL participating brands and non-profits. Brands' pages (for example Chemical Guys and Lucky Joe's Garage) each promote the same drawing under their own name.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3

“Sponsor is offering only ONE GRAND PRIZE in conjunction with all such participating business entities and non-profit organizations”

  • The rules label the period times 'Pacific Daylight Time (PT)' but Nov 30 falls in Pacific Standard Time. The rules also say all times are Pacific Time, so the end is read as 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific on Nov 30 (-08:00).

Show the rules' wording· sec. 1

“The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (“PT”) on September 11, 2026”

  • Round 11 postcards need only first name, last name and e-mail. Round 10 (same PO Box 429) required complete address, phone and date of birth, so do not reuse that card layout.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 3, AMOE

“legibly handprint in black ink your first name, last name, and e-mail address and send to”

  • The prize section's cross-reference to 'Section 4(d)' does not match the numbering (To Enter is section 3, Winning/Odds is section 4); the same wording was carried over from earlier rounds. Treat internal cross-references with care.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 5 vs sec. 3

“In the event the Grand Prize Winner entered via Section 4(d), they will receive a $100,000USD check.”

  • Odds depend on the total entries from every participating brand, non-profit and mail-in; the pool is shared by about two dozen brands.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 4

“Odds of winning the grand prize (“Grand Prize”) will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.”

  • Shared Sweeps' homepage says it fully funds the $100,000 prize. The rules list a total ARV of $100,000 and nothing else.

Show the rules' wording· sharedsweeps.com (home)

“Shared Sweeps fully funds the $100,000 prize.”
