From the fine print

What the rules say

14 notes

Disqualifiers1

Any one of these can void an entry or a win.

  • Entries over the limits are void; automation, multiple identities or emails are grounds to disqualify all of a contestant's entries.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“Any entries in excess of the limits set-forth herein shall be void and ineligible to win. The use, or any attempted use, of any robotic or other automated means to submit entries, or any attempt to submit more than the permitted maximum number of entries by any person (whether by use of multiple identities, email addresses, or any other means) is grounds for disqualification of all entries for such Contestant at Charity’s sole and absolute discretion.”

Advantages3

Things in the rules that work in your favor.

  • Hard cap of 600 tickets per person per drawing across all methods; the 20% bonus makes a $500 order reach exactly 600, so the biggest possible buyer pays $500. If free requests can carry many tickets, a mailer could match that.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“Every Eligible Person is limited to acquiring no more than 600 Contest Tickets per drawing during the Contest Period regardless of the method of entry.”

  • Winner may take a lump-sum cash payment instead of the car; the choice must be made in writing by the deadline in sec. 11. Tax is withheld from the cash.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 11

“Alternatively, in lieu of accepting the 2027 Corvette Stingray , the Grand Prize Winner may elect to receive a one-time lump sum cash payment of $65,000. (except as stated below).”

  • Open to legal residents of the United States and Canada aged 18 or older; only charity officers, employees and their households are excluded. No state exclusions are listed.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 2

“is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry ("Eligible Person"), except where prohibited by law.”

Extra free entries1

  • A no-donation route exists: tickets can be requested online (a no-purchase form), by phone at (559) 447-6300 (including asking for an official entry form to be mailed to you), or on an order form returned by regular mail, and the rules say tickets requested are received whether or not a donation was given.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 8

“No purchase or donation is necessary to enter or win. A donation is not required to obtain Contest Tickets. A person will receive Contest Tickets requested on the order page, order form, entered online, or over the phone, regardless of whether a donation was provided.”

Timing3

  • At most four separate ticket requests per calendar month across all methods, whatever the quantity. Plan requests accordingly.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“In addition, every Eligible Person is limited to no more than four (4) separate requests for Contest Tickets during any calendar month throughout the Contest Period regardless of the method of entry or number of Contest Tickets requested.”

  • Ticket numbers can take up to six weeks to arrive by mail (two weeks by email in sec. 6 but three weeks in sec. 20), and no refund is given for numbers not received before the drawing unless you tell the charity by the close date. A mailed order near the deadline may not be confirmed before the drawing.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6 and sec. 20

“Contest Ticket Numbers may take up to six weeks to be received by mail or two weeks to be received by email.”

  • Winner must pay the estimated federal and state withholding tax to the charity before the car can be delivered, and within 30 calendar days of the drawing pay all taxes, take delivery and meet all requirements or the prize is forfeited and redrawn.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 12

“The Grand Prize Winner will have 30 calendar days after the drawing to pay all required taxes to the Charity, take delivery of the Grand Prize, and meet all other requirements of these Official Contest Rules.”

Costs3

  • A mailed order goes by regular mail with sufficient postage to a private mailbox (PMB 445) in Fresno, not to the charity's Madera address in the rules.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 6

“by regular mail with sufficient postage to Ronald McDonald House | 7797 N First St PMB#445 | Fresno, CA 93720.”

  • The charity may add a 'reasonable processing fee' to any ticket request 'regardless of the method of entry', which could include a free request.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 15

“Charity reserves the right to apply a reasonable processing fee (the “Processing Fee”) to each Contestant’s request for tickets, regardless of the method of entry and regardless of the number of tickets requested.”

  • Winner pays sales and income taxes, license, title and registration, delivery or transport, and all other costs; the car is as-is.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 11

“The Contest Grand Prize Winner shall be responsible for all sales and income taxes; license, title, and registration fees; delivery or transportation costs; and any other costs associated with the winning and use of the Grand Prize.”

Oddities3

  • The rules never say how many tickets a no-donation request earns. Read literally, 'tickets requested' are received regardless of donation (up to the 600 cap), but the free online form could not be read and no sponsor page states the quantity. Treat the free quantity as unknown and ask the charity.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 8

“A person will receive Contest Tickets requested on the order page, order form, entered online, or over the phone, regardless of whether a donation was provided.”

  • The sponsor of record is a charity (Madera, CA address) and the rules do not state its 501(c)(3) status; IRS data lists it as subsection 3. Ticket prices are described as 'suggested donations' yet the rules also say tickets are not tax deductible.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 1

“sponsored by the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Central Valley, Inc. (the “Charity”)”

  • Stale text in the rules: section 16 refers to the '2025 Corvette Z06 Contest', and 'PST' is used for a June deadline when Pacific time is on daylight time.

Show the rules' wording· sec. 16

“Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the 2025 Corvette Z06 Contest”
